Gentle Bodywork Inspired By the Intelligence of Nature
❋ Our Bodies Need Consistent Relaxation To Heal
The deep relaxation achieved during a therapeutic session invites the body to heal by setting the nervous system into rest-and-digest. This increases blood flow while improving the immune system response.
Relaxation is not just a luxury, it’s a basic necessity of living in a body.
Most of us are living or working in an over-stimulating environment.
It’s now typical to spend a lot of time with hand held devices, holding our hands, arms, head, neck, and shoulders in various problematic positions for long periods of time.
It’s also common to sit for hours at a time too.
Biomechanically speaking, none of this is natural to our brains or bodies.
Counterbalance to modern living’s demands include bodywork, movement practices, and deep diaphragmatic breathing.
When received regularly, in conjunction with healthy lifestyle practices, bodywork lowers blood pressure, decreases stress hormone production such as cortisol, and improves quality of sleep.
❋ Fascia Therapies: Craniosacral & Myofascial Release
Myofascial release & craniosacral therapy center around the body as an interconnected web of tissue systems.
We now know that fascia runs throughout the body, through our organs, muscles and into our bones. It is also within our spinal cords, brains and nervous systems too.
Fascia is a soft tissue system that holds the habitual patterns of our bodies and minds.
Our fascial system holds the muscle memory essentially.
It is the aspect of the soft tissue being designed by the habits of the body through specific repetition.
Tasks, like our exercise routines, screen habits, how we eat, cook, drive, plus how we study and work all inform how our fascia behaves and responds.
Whatever you are doing with your body, your fascia will follow that shape and hold onto it for you.
Craniosacral and myofascial release therapies are scientific and intuitive, as fascia is integral to our physical framework, holding all the other systems of the body.
When applied consistently, myofascial release & craniosacral therapy supports making structural changes at a deep level.

The Impact of Bodywork: Reclaiming Your Power
Focus on Supporting the Body's Natural Healing Wisdom
Our bodies are self-healing intelligence personified.
Think about it, whenever you get a papercut, what happens?
The body repairs itself.
This is the basic premise of sustainable and effective bodywork.
Bodywork doesn’t force the body to heal; it merely creates a supportive container for the body to remember what it already knows how to do.
Specialized bodywork & massage are more than just a temporary escape; they are a vital investment in your physical and mental longevity.
By combining targeted physical therapy with deep relaxation techniques, regular bodywork helps release accumulated stress, realign the nervous system, and restore your body’s natural ability to heal.
Every body is different.
Yet we all need healing that is supportive, attuned, and vibrantly aligned with our unique temperaments.
That is why Honeysuckle Healing offers four different therapeutic bodywork and massage times. Each session can be customized with any of our special add-ons.

Bodywork FAQ’s
-
They are different.
Bodywork includes massage therapy, chiropractic care, energy work, Shiatsu, Thai massage, reflexology, etc. Massage therapy is a branch of the bodywork “tree”.
On this site, you will see the terms used interchangeably because multiple modalities are offered at Honeysuckle Healing.
-
Showing up 5-10 min early is perfectly acceptable, as you will be required to fill out a health history form and consent to care.
Afterward, the therapist will review the intake with you and ask specific questions to establish goals for the session, clarify details of intake, and determine what massage plan to co-create that addresses limits and needs.
The therapist may perform certain assessments and testing to evaluate your condition and to see if you have any presenting complaints.
It is important to list all health concerns and medications so the therapist can adapt the session to your specific needs without doing any harm.
It is also important to list any allergies, so the therapist is aware if she needs to use different topical products during the session.

There are very few instances where massage is not recommended, and these are called total contraindications. This includes being under the influence of alcohol, suffering from a cold/flu/fever, diarrhea or vomiting or having a contagious skin infection. There are also ‘local contraindications’ which are conditions affecting specific areas of the body such as cuts, bruises or areas of injury; these areas will be avoided.
Severe medical conditions such as heart problems, respiratory issues, cancer, or epilepsy will require medical approval from your GP stating that you are safe to receive a massage.
The conditions mentioned above are general guidelines only, so if you are concerned that any of the medical conditions apply to you, please contact your therapist first to check that the treatment is suitable for you. You should not attend a massage if you believe that you are suffering from or have been exposed to Covid-19.
